Many are very wrong. The MacOS™ like licenses have less freedom than GPL
licenses... since you can wipe out freedom from the code.
What is a freedom which can destroy itself?

It's is *not* a comparison based on the "amount of freedom" of each
type of license. That's plain stupid.

People who are saying that GPL licenses have less freedom than MacOS™
like licenses are wrong. People saying that less freedom the better
for software are wrong too...
It's a matter of choice, balance and many other parameters...
For me and many, it's GPL.
